How do I setup my email account on my computer?
Be sure to use your full email address, such as This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., in the User Name field for authentication.
Usually passwords are set in lower case-- make sure your CAPS LOCK is off.

Non SSL email settings

The following settings are the non Secure settings. Use this only if you cannot use the SSL settings. Otherwise, you will want to use the SSL setup. Note that you will need to change "your-domain.com" to your domain name.

• Incoming Server: mail.your-domain.com
• Outgoing Server: mail.your-domain.com
• Username: Your full e-mail address
• Password: Your e-mail account password
• Incoming Port: POP3 110 or IMAP 143
• Outgoing Mail server (SMTP) Port: 587
• SSL: NO
• SMTP Authentication Required
• Secure Authentication or SPA needs to be turned off

SSL email settings

Below is an example of the recommended Secure settings. The SSL (Secue Sockets Layer) protocol is for connecting to your server securely to prevent network "snoopers" from seeing your data over the network connection. 

• Incoming Server: mail.interactivevillages.com
• Outgoing Server: mail.interactivevillages.com
• Username: Your full e-mail address
• Password: Your e-mail account password
• Incoming Port: POP3 995 or IMAP 993
• Outgoing Mail server (SMTP) Port: 465
• SSL: YES
• SMTP Authentication Required
• Secure Authentication or SPA needs to be turned off

How do I enable SPIF and DKIM?
Login to your Cpanel and under the Mail group, you will see that there is a link for Email Authentication. Click this to get to your control panel for these settings. 

DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM)

You can use DKIM to verify that an incoming e-mail message is actually from the stated sender, and that the message has not been altered during transit. When DKIM is enabled, the sender digitally signs a message using a private key. The recipient uses DNS to retrieve the sender's public key and verify the message's signature. If the signature is invalid, then the message is assumed to be forged and therefore spam.

Enabling DKIM

To enable DKIM, follow these steps:

1. In the Mail section of the cPanel home screen, click Email Authentication.

2. Under DKIM, click Enable.

Disabling DKIM

To disable DKIM, follow these steps:

1. In the Mail section of the cPanel home screen, click Email Authentication.

2. Under DKIM, click Disable.

Sender Policy Framework (SPF)

SPF helps prevent spammers from forging messages that implicate your domain as the sender. As a result, SPF can also reduce the amount of bounce messages that you receive (also known as backscatter spam). SPF uses DNS records that specify the mail servers and IP addresses that are authorized to send e-mail messages from a domain.

Enabling SPF

To enable SPF, follow these steps:

1. In the Mail section of the cPanel home screen, click Email Authentication.

2. Under SPF, click Enable.
